Hammarlund Super-Pro 400

In a manner similar to the HQ-129X, the first post-war Super Pro drew heavily upon the design of its pre-war and wartime predecessors. The 15-tube, single conversion set had a crystal filter in a 455 kHz I.F, two stages of RF amplification, and a pair of push-pull 6V6s capable of 8 watts audio output. The Super Pro 400 tuned from .54 – 30 MHz in 5 bands and used an external power supply. The model pictured is the SPC-400X cabinet version. The rack mount receiver was designated the SPR-400X; $342.00, 1946.
