SONAR MONO-BANDER In 1962, Sonar Radio Corporation of Brooklyn, NY introduced a series of one-band SSB transceivers. Models were available for amateur bands from 80 through 10 meters (20 meter transceiver illustrated). Modes of operation were upper and lower sideband (180 watts PEP) and CW (160 watts). The Mono-Banders employed a Collins 2.1 kHz mechanical filter and featured AVC on receive, along with “Automatic Modulation Control” and Vox/PTT control on transmit; $395.
