Lettine Model 242

Beginning in 1950 and continuing for more than a decade, every issue of QST and CQ carried an advertisement for transmitters made by the  Lettine Radio Manufacturing Co. of Valley Stream, NY.  The format of the ads never changed, nor did the basic appearance of the transmitters.  The Model 242 was a VHF expansion on the company's Model 240 HF transmitter line.  The first 242s were for two meters, later production could be had for either the two or six-meter bands; 1954, $89.95.
