Collins 75A-4 The last of the A-line receivers employed 22 tubes and featured passband tuning, a Q-multiplier notch filter, one-kHz calibration, a noise limiter, and selectable AVC. Most later models came equipped with a 4:1 vernier tuning knob. A 3.1 kHz mechanical filter was standard; space was provided for two others from a range of bandwidths including .5, .8, 1.5, 2.1, and 6 kHz. Frequency coverage was the 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, 11, and 10 meter amateur bands. Collins introduced the receiver in 1955 at a price of $495. |
