VINCE LOMBARDI Heroes are difficult to come by these days; it takes disaster and national tragedy to bring them out. As a kid, I found mine in City Stadium (Lambeau Field) on autumn Sunday afternoons. I never suited up, never played the game, as Cosell once said; but I pursued photography as if Lombardi taught it to me. I think he influenced countless other lives and careers with no connection to the gridiron.
THE GREEN BAY PACKERS The Packers have always been my team. For a while I had to split my loyalty between the Pack and the Dolphins because my friend and role model, Marv Fleming, went to play with Miami. |
